Why do people ship Harmony?! Hermione needed Ron to balance her out and Harry needed to be loved by Ginny. They are all perfect the way JK wrote them. Silly films putting ideas in peoples heads.

There are seriously so many things wrong with this post, but i’ll try to list them.

number 1 - “Why do people ship Harmony?”… okay, why do people ship Romione? Hinny? Tupin? Jily? the list goes on but the answer is pretty common; YOU THINK THEY WOULD MAKE A GOOD COUPLE. clearly you enjoy your canon which is all good; however, just because I (and loads of other people, if you haven’t noticed) ship Harry and Hermione, what gives you the right to question us? i’ve said this time and time again, i like Harmony because they support each other (no need to bicker over petty things), they remain by each others’ side through it all (rather than taking the easy ‘Ron’ way out or just telling Ginny she can’t come), and most importantly, all of their book moments just told me they belonged together. again, you probably like your Romione/Hinny book moments, but that’s because we have different values of what should constitute a relationship.

number 2 - “Hermione needed Ron to balance her out and Harry needed to be loved by Ginny.”?… again, if you support the ‘opposite’s attract’ outcome, then you would think Romione is good. I, however, love me the good ol’ ‘hero gets the girl’ outcome. and Hinny… don’t even get me started on that relationship. which essentially was born out of 5 or so conversations and a love potion (come on… J.K. Rowling has them meet in CoS, then they maybe have 1-2 interactions in PoA and GoF and then a few in the DA 5th year and then all of a sudden he’s supposed to fall head over heels in love with her? nuh uh, i’m not buying it. plus, J.K. just had to bring up amortentia and love potions in HBP, didn’t she. i don’t think that’s coincidental).

number 3 - “They are all perfect the way JK wrote them.”?i don’t know if you’ve heard of it, but there’s thing called interpretation. and if there’s one thing i know for a fact is that J.K., as an author, would want us all to read her books, analyze what we’ve read, and come up with what we think should happen. so what if i came up with Harmony? or loads of others for that matter? is she gonna hate me and basically the whole fandom who ships Harmony (or any non-canon ship, for that matter?) NO. because literature is the one thing where everyone reads it and comes up with their own conclusion for it. in retrospect, J.K. wrote the epilogue to DH before she started SS/PS; so basically she set the couples in stone before she wrote and developed them and honestly, up until 5th year, i could see either Harmony or Romione happening (again, i saw Romione, but didn’t like that path). but then 6th year was just a mess and she made the couples pretty clear… until Ron left in DH and then i saw a sliver of hope but then she juked me out again.

number 4 - “Silly films putting ideas in peoples heads.”?again, i must laugh at every Romione/Hinny shipper who uses this as a crutch that ‘if you ship Harmony, it must only be because of the movies’. i shipped them first through BOOK moments. and then in the films they made them look that much better. here are just a few book moments;and of course…

and number 5 - THE. HARMONY. TAG.
if you don’t want any more posts like this, then you shouldn’t tag it in the tag you’re hating on. for example, if i posted a the harmony horcrux kiss GIF, you wouldn’t like scrolling through the Romione tag and seeing that, now would you? so, in conclusion, next time maybe tag this ‘anti-harmony’… or just keep it in the Romione/Hinny tag where people will agree with you.
